Becky Winchell, brain aneurysm survivor and founder of the first brain aneurysm support group in South Louisiana, will speak at West Jefferson Medical Center on Tuesday, May 17. It is part of the hospital’s “Empathy Day” which involves seven different stations that illustrate how difficult daily chores are for someone who’s suffered a stroke.
Winchell will join Neurologist Walter Truax, M.D., who will also be speaking on stroke prevention. She suffered a massive brain aneurysm in 2009 and was fortunate enough to enjoy a full recovery.
The event takes place from 9:30 – 11:30 in the hospital’s atrium.
