Aneurysm Awareness

I suffered a brain aneurysm in the spring of 2009.  I am the mother of  seven children and count my lucky stars that I survived.  I have talked to so many people about my recovery and it came as a surprise to me how prevalent aneurysms are in our community.   I know from experience that an aneurysm can exist silently until it’s almost too late.

I am so grateful for the prayers and medical attention that I received to get me through the ordeal. I am fully recovered and have resumed my normal activities – and that includes a busy family schedule!

I am committed to improving awareness of aneurysms in South Louisiana.

With the help of some very dear friends, I have started a charity to raise funds for education. Our first event is “Aces Against Aneurysms,” a fundraising tennis tournament at the Pelican Athletic Club on April 19, 2010.

I hope you can join us or help us spread the word about aneurysms.  Register by April 15 by emailing bfisher@thepac.com .
